They shared their best practices, challenges, the changing role of DEI and innovative approaches they are taking to center DEI in their organizations.

Madeline Borkin is a passionate advocate for disability rights, employment equity, and workforce equality. She has a broad background in human resources – including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee assessments and surveys, and diversity and inclusion. She dedicates much of her time as a community volunteer and speaker for i4cp member companies and non-profit organizations such as Best Buddies International, Junior Achievement, Youth Frontiers, and Partners in Policymaking.

Marcia (MJ) Calloway has broken barriers as the first ever Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for San Ysidro Health in San Diego, California. In this inaugural role, she is responsible for leading the diversity, equity, and inclusion work for the organization. Specifically, she is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive and innovative DEI programs and policies. Marcia addresses systemic racism in organizational business practices, policies, and processes. She advocates for the voiceless and marginalized who have historically been denied access to equitable salaries, employment, mentors, education, and senior leadership positions.

Moxie DEI Panelist Andres Gonzalez

Andres Gonzalez is responsible for overseeing the integration of diversity initiatives throughout the organization, including expanding workforce diversity and strengthening community relationships. Prior to joining Froedtert Health, Gonzalez was chief diversity and inclusion officer at Baystate Health System, an integrated health care delivery system in Springfield, Mass. He also spent five years at Cleveland Clinic as director of diversity, community outreach and supplier diversity. In both positions, Gonzalez created and championed programs and processes to foster and sustain cultural competence.

Andre Koen is an energetic and powerful communicator and dynamic teacher of DEI principles. It is his philosophy to seek diversity and inclusion through increasing equality of access, developing talent and achieving equitable outcomes for patients and staff. He leads the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program at Revo Health, a management services organization that provides values-based care solutions for physician practices and ambulatory service centers.

Lor Lee brings 20 years of experience helping organizations create more inclusive cultures. He is passionate about bringing diverse groups of people together to create a more equitable world where people can collaboratively build on their strengths, breakdown barriers, and move forward towards changing culture. He has successfully coached individuals and teams to advance workforce DEI Strategies and Health Equity. He was most recently the Director/Administrative Partner for The Office of Diversity & Inclusion at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and now runs a successful consulting practice, Lor Lee Inclusion.

Mo is a natural leader, entrepreneur, and dynamic educator who is an expert on getting people to think big, take action and move the dial on driving results for themselves and their teams.
